MAKE SENSE ECONOMICS
Strong Economy Policies
"I, however, place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.... I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple." ~ Thomas Jefferson
BUDGET
We must deal with the size and scope of our government. America is closing in on the edge of bankruptcy by a bloated federal bureaucracy that now squanders more of our tax dollars than at any point in our nation's history. We are an over-regulated, over-taxed, and over-governed society.
We advocate a return to Constitutional compliance in the size, scope, and authority of the Federal government in the budgetary process by returning to full compliance with the Tenth Amendment.
BUY AMERICAN
To ensure that we stay strong as a Country, we must always buy American. That grows our economy, communities, creating new jobs, better pay and protecting our American workers.
Protect our fair trade rights and oppose free trade. Regulation of trade using tariffs and treaties, to promote the general welfare of the United States, is a fundamental Constitutional mandate. Eliminating trade deficits and protecting domestic production are paramount.
End taxpayer bailouts of corporations and foreign governments.
TAX REFORM
Our Country has a spending problem, not a tax problem. We shall direct the taxation policy of the nation and our state to one that reflects the original intent of the framers of the Constitution.
We need to limit government intervention in the economy and let the free market regulate itself. The government should not be picking winners and losers with their tax regulations.
ENERGY INDEPENDENT & EFFICIENT
Our nation's national security and economic stability are dependent upon reliable access to affordable, dependable, and efficient energy resources. Any responsible national energy policy must therefore ensure the energy independence of the United States.
Our government cannot bow to the political pressures of both industry lobbyists and environmental extremist groups and overstep their legitimate constitutional authority.
Our nation must adopt an Energy Policy that is Constitutional and focused on solving our near term energy resource problems, while working on long term solutions. We need to recognize that many promising technologies are in the early stages and it could be many years before they become a reliable source and an alternative energy option.
